Football days fascinate children all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. New Goals for Veliki Radić

September 28th, 2011, UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, posted by UniCredit

In more than 40 cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Open Fun Football Schools (OFFS) inspired more than 3.200 boys and girls and brought them together to play football. For the village Veliki Radić, a dream came true, as Anders Levinson, founder of the project, learned from Mr. Svetozar Pudarić, Vice president of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the small and poor returnee village, at the slopes of Grmeč Mountain, a region where life is truly hard, couple of dozen children were always dreaming of playing football with a real football and real goals. So far, these kids went to join the OFFS in Bosanska Krupa but the desire to continue playing never stopped when they were back home. This season a dream came true. Old, wooden and broken goals were replaced by new ones.

Dejana’s biggest desire came true at one of the football festivals in Serbia

September 21st, 2011, UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, posted by UniCredit

Together with 200 children from the towns of Backa Palanka and Odzaci, Dejana Backo had a lot of joy and fun at the Open Fun Football Schools (OFFS) from 22 – 26 August. Dejana is a 15 year old girl born without upper extremities but with an incredible talent: with her left foot she does amazing paintings – so skilful that today she is studying at the secondary school of art in Novi Sad and represents Serbia in the world association of artists with disabilities.
First time the OFFS met Dejana was on television when Dejana told the journalist about her biggest desire: to get the chance of playing football with her peers.
At the OFFS Dejana’s dedication and irresistible smile made it easy for her to become part of the game. It was fantastic to see how the children without disabilities changed their attitudes towards Dejana during the five days. The first day you could see some children discretely looking at Dejana and her handicap. At the end she was accepted as one like all the others.
