Football unites cultures in Croatia
Do you remember our initiative MAKE A KID SMILE? You gave us thousands of smiles, therefore UniCredit has donated 200.000 Euro to the Open Fun Football Schools. The donation supports projects of fun, mutual respect, friendship and peace for 22 000 children in 11 European countries.
Last week (16th – 20th Aug.) the Croatian town of Lepoglava hosted a fascinating five day event. 220 boys and girls from Austria, Bosnia, Croatia, Germany, Serbia and Slovenia had a wonderful time together playing the Open Fun Football Schools program in the morning, cultural excursions in the afternoons, discothèque and other social activities in the evening.
It was the first time ever that children from Slovenia, Austria and Germany participated in an Open Fun Football School. We were excited to see how children and adults of so many different backgrounds created friendship across all boundaries. The event showed us again that smiles, joy and fun are unique tools to connect children and adults of different backgrounds and cultures.
Catch up with us at the Mini Football Tournament at the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour in Belgrade.
See more pictures from the event in Croatia.
Stay tuned, we will continue to report on more of these activities.
