  1. do you think it’s useful to move a heavy truck all over europe just to show a cup. I’m just thinking of how many liters of oil are necessary for the all trip.. is it environmentally sustainable?

  2. Thank you for your inquiry. An American Freightliner does use about 38 litres of diesel per 100 km, however our idea is not to use the truck simply to move the Trophy from place to place, but to bring the Trophy to the fans where they live and work, making stops in main squares of some cities and giving thousands the chance to see it up close as it drove through their town or passed them on the road. The truck was also used as a ‘stage’ in several cities where many people had a unique experience to enjoy a special event.
In total, during the Trophy Tour 2009 approximately 92,000 people attended the event in one location or another and we were able to bring the Trophy to 15 cities. We did look into other solutions to transport the Trophy (train, boat, plane) however this was the solution we found to make the Trophy always visible to the fans, ensure we were able to arrive in time to every event, and meet the security needs for such an event. Many people also enjoyed seeing this truck up close as it is very rare along the roads we were traveling. We hope this addresses your concerns.
